This can cause circles under the eyes to develop making us look tired.  Cheeks start to appear sunken and groves develop beside the mouth.  Lips thin and lip lines appear.  We develop crow’s feet beside the eyes and frown lines become permanently etched in our foreheads.  We all age in appearance in different ways and I fondly refer to us as the Wrinklers, the Sinkers, the Saggers and the Sun Damaged!  All of us are all of the above to various degrees.  Come one, come all!  Treatments exist to address all of these concerns.

1) Ultherapy for us Saggers

Me?  I’m a sagger!  So Ultherapy is my favourite treatment.  This award-winning treatment uses ultrasound to cause controlled injury in the skin.  To understand how this works think of what happens to your muscles when you go to the gym.  You use movement and gravity and add resistance with weights to cause minor tears to your muscle fibres.  As your muscles recover from this controlled injury they grow stronger and more toned.  Ultherapy works the same way but instead of using exercise to cause the injury we use focused Ultrasound.  Ultrasound also allows us to see beneath the surface of the skin which is why Ultherapy can safely penetrate deeper than any other technology in existence.  It’s not facelift results but it is non-invasive and as close as you can get to a facelift without going under the knife.

2) Laser Resurfacing for Wrinklers

If your skin is etched with fine lines, lip lines and other textural irregularities the treatment for you is laser resurgfacing with a C02 or Erbium Yag Laser.  Skinpossible has both and which one we use will depend on the colour of your skin.  To understand how it works think of your skin as a potato.  The laser can be used to create microscopic perforations in the skin of the potato.  When applied to your skin this creates a healing response in the surrounding skin to create new collagen while causing a deep exfoliation.  Alternative we can actually peel the potato.  This is a more aggressive treatment for deeper lines such as those around the mouth. 

3) Relax the deeper lines

Frown lines, crow’s feet and other deep lines caused by animation of the face can be erased by relaxing the muscles that cause them with neuromodulars.  Tiny injections of this class of medication can be used for a multitude of cosmetic purposes.  Neuromodulators that are currently in use are Botox™, Dysport™ and Xeomin™.  Skinpossible uses Botox. 

4) Replace lost volume with Juvederm

If you’re a sinker, lost volume can easily be replaced with dermal fillers.  Fillers can also be used to restore the contours and shape your face had when you were younger, or create volume where it has never existed.  It can restore youthful contours of cheeks, fill in dark circles under the eyes, enhance thin lips to improve their shape and symmetry, fill in deep brackets around the mouth, restore definition to the jaw, minimize jowls and lip lines, and more.  Results are subtle but instant and dramatic!

5) Phototherapy for Sun Damage

Phototherapy used intense pulsed light, also known as IPL, to target brown and red pigmentation and restore even skintones.  Skinpossible uses a medical-grade IPL knows as a BBL.  The BBL has built-in cooling that makes the use of high energy safe.  This allows us to deliver a more aggressive treatment for results that are superior to other IPL’s.  With cooling the skin can to tolerate multiple passes to target browns and reds simultaneously in the same treatment.
